I found this recipe on Pinterest. First of all I love that it is easy and starts with a boxed cake mix and second of all it has cream cheese in it! Seriously anything with cream cheese grabs my attention. I made these delicious bars and they did not disappoint. Give them a whirl, they are rich, gooey and satisfying. (They could also be a good dessert to make with kids since they aren’t too tricky.)
Chess Squares
Recipe and photos from Kevin & Amanda
1 box yellow cake mix
3 eggs
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
4 cups (1 lb) powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 300 and spray a 9×13 dish with cooking spray. Mix cake mix, melted butter and one egg to a soft dough. Press into the bottom of the pan. Mix powdered sugar, softened cream cheese and remaining two eggs until smooth, about 1-2 mins. Pour on top of crust. Bake at 300 for 40-50 minutes until top is golden brown.

They are delicious! I always make them ahead and then put them in the fridge because they are gooey. Once they get cold I slice them and put them on a tray. Then serve them whenever you want. They are just as good the day after as the day they’re made! Enjoy!!
Yum! Making these this weekend! Do you serve them warm or is it okay to make them ahead of time?
