Every magazine I open these days has a large advertisement for Target’s new line Threshold. The photos are charming, stylish and full of great furniture and accessories.

Longest Picture Ever Made!

I don’t know if you have seen Ramona and Beezus but my kids love it (even the boys!). Anyway on the show Ramona’s dad helps her make a super long mural for her project for school. Well Max was dying to try it. So one day Greg and Max went for it.

First, Greg got a roll of paper from Ikea.
Second, they got all the paint supplies ready.
(Key to doing this with kids is using washable paints!)
Third, let your imagination go crazy.
Fourth, get involved. You aren’t too old to paint something great.

Tablescapes For Your Easter Celebration

As I picked these Easter tablescapes to feature on my blog I noticed one commonality, fresh flowers. Whether the flowers are in a glass vase, a painted tin can or a can wrapped in denim or Peeps candy, they scream Spring is here! I hope these table settings inspire you. The List

Some make New Year’s resolutions, we make THE LIST (cue the dramatic music dun-dun-duun) What is this scary list you ask? Well let me tell ya. The List is a blueprint if you will of all the projects we want to accomplish that year. You would think that after years of making and sticking trying to stick to the list we would be out of projects, not true. There is always another project to do. So here is our List for 2012.

Move Mary to a bed and create a fun bedroom for the two girls to share.
Re-paint the main floor bathroom – maybe stripes or maybe wallpaper???
Decorate the walls of the kid’s playroom
Paint the spindles on the staircase and stain the handrail.
Finish painting the shed outside – as soon as it is warm again.
Build a bench outside near the basketball court.
Find a perfect couch for our living room.

I’m exhausted already! We need some good inspiration. Let us know what you think of our ideas and share any great ideas that you might have.

Light Fixtures

I’m a huge fan of great light fixtures. Over the last year I’ve taken pictures of fabulous ones in stores, hotels and restaurants.

Winter Outdoor Decor

I came across these most exquisite, Winter containers in the Better Homes and Gardens magazine. One of my favorite things about Summer is planting containers that overflow with  plants and color. I yearn for something interesting to happen in the yard during the Winter months and so when I saw this article it inspired me.

“Deborah Silver is a landscape and garden designer whose firm, Deborah Silver and Co Inc, opened its doors in 1986.  She opened Detroit Garden Works, a retail store devoted to fine and unusual garden ornament and specialty plants, in 1996.  In 2004, she opened the Branch studio, a subsidiary of the landscape company which designs and manufactures garden ornament in a variety of media.”

Her blog is inspirational and these Winter pots are fabulous.
